Lead and execute complex cross-border transactions across Asia Pacific, with a focus on Japan and Korea.
Advise on M&A, joint ventures, acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, financing and capital markets matters.
Assess legal, regulatory and commercial risks, and provide practical solutions to support business objectives.
Draft, review and negotiate transaction and commercial documentation.
Provide strategic legal advice throughout the transaction lifecycle, from structuring and due diligence to completion.
Partner closely with investment, finance, tax, risk and compliance teams across the region.
Manage external counsel and support regional legal projects as required.
Requirements
Qualified lawyer with 5-10 years PQE from a leading international law firm and/or multinational company.
Strong experience in M&A, private equity, investments, corporate finance or capital markets transactions.
Proven track record handling complex cross-border deals.
Professional proficiency in English and Japanese is required, as the role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents, and advising English- and Japanese-speaking clients.
Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills.
Experience working across multiple Asia-Pacific jurisdictions is preferred.
