Role Purpose
The Maintenance & Automation Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating maintenance and automation activities to ensure equipment reliability, operational continuity, and efficient execution of maintenance plans. The role focuses on supporting day-to-day maintenance operations, monitoring automation systems, and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting the effective performance of production and engineering operations.

Maintenance Execution & Asset Reliability
- Lead and supervise execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to support equipment reliability, operational continuity, and asset performance.
- Monitor execution of maintenance plans and schedules, ensuring maintenance activities are carried out effectively and aligned with operational priorities.
- Support resolution of recurring equipment issues and coordinate actions to minimize downtime and improve reliability performance.
- Identify equipment performance gaps and support implementation of actions to enhance asset availability and operational efficiency.
Automation Systems Monitoring & Support
- Lead monitoring and support of automation systems, controls, and production-related technologies to ensure stable and reliable operation.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of automation-related issues affecting operational continuity and equipment performance.
- Coordinate execution of automation system improvements, upgrades, and optimization activities.
- Monitor control system performance and support actions to improve automation effectiveness.
Maintenance Planning & Shutdown Coordination
- Support coordination of maintenance planning activities, including scheduled shutdowns, preventive maintenance execution, and maintenance resource deployment.
- Monitor progress of maintenance plans and support alignment with production and operational requirements.
- Assist in prioritization of maintenance interventions based on operational needs and asset criticality.
Asset Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor asset performance indicators, maintenance trends, and equipment reliability data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support implementation of initiatives aimed at reducing downtime, improving equipment efficiency, and strengthening maintenance performance.
- Contribute to enhancement of maintenance practices and automation reliability through continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Support & Problem Resolution
- Provide technical support for maintenance and automation issues requiring analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
- Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures related to equipment and control system performance.
- Facilitate technical coordination to resolve operational issues affecting production continuity.
Safety, Compliance & Engineering Standards
- Monitor adherence to engineering standards, maintenance procedures, and health, safety, and environmental requirements within maintenance operations.
- Support implementation of safe maintenance practices and compliance with technical standards.
- Identify risks affecting equipment integrity or safe operations and support mitigation actions.
Maintenance Execution Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance workflows, automation support practices, and execution effectiveness.
- Support implementation of initiatives aimed at strengthening maintenance capability, operational efficiency, and reliability performance.
Knowledge, Experience & Education
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a relevant field, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
- Proven experience in maintenance, automation, or engineering support roles.
- Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Experience working with automation systems and industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and equipment diagnostics.
- Familiarity with safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field is required.
- Technical certifications in maintenance, automation systems, or reliability are preferred.
