Position Summary :
The
Electrical Maintenance Engineer Ensures maximum operational uptime and reliability of plant electrical equipment, automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs), and power distribution infrastructure. Leads electrical troubleshooting, automation programming/modifications, and preventive electrical maintenance to support uninterrupted seasonal production.
Job Description :
- Program, troubleshoot, backup, and optimize PLC logic (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and HMI interfaces
- Diagnose faults in VFDs, servo drives, field sensors, control loops, and industrial communications (Profinet, Modbus)
- Calibrate and maintain specialized line automation components, including scales , X-ray inspection systems, metal detectors, and checkweighers
- Carry out scheduled preventive electrical maintenance tasks on production and packaging lines to reduce unplanned downtime
- Respond to electrical breakdowns promptly, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and executing necessary repairs on control circuits and power lines
- Document all electrical interventions, parameter adjustments, and fault logs accurately in the CMMS
- Ensure high-speed production lines, packaging machinery, and key processing systems are fully operational during high-demand months
Prioritize electrical troubleshooting based on production schedules and line urgency.
- Coordinate closely with production and quality teams for planned electrical modifications and power shutdowns
- Monitor and maintain high-to-low voltage distribution networks, main distribution panels (MDBs), motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, and UPS systems
- Oversee electrical systems for utilities, including air compressors, cooling units, chillers, AHUs, pumps, and emergency generators
- Ensure all electrical utility equipment operates within safe operating limits, proper load balancing, and high-power factor efficiency
- Strictly apply Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), arc-flash protocols, PPE requirements, and electrical safety standards during maintenance work
- Maintain food-grade electrical standards, including IP-rated enclosures, proper cable trunking, hygienic panel sealing, and clean sensor installations
- Report and escalate electrical safety hazards or unsafe wiring conditions promptly
- Monitor critical electrical and automation spare parts consumption (PLCs, VFDs, servo motors, fuses, relays, sensors) and raise replenishment requests
- Contribute to cost control by optimizing spare usage, identifying reliable alternative components, and maintaining software licenses
- Identify recurring electrical or automation faults and engineer permanent solutions to boost reliability
- Participate in root cause analysis, engineering modifications, and control panel rewiring projects
