Position Summary
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing both preventive and corrective maintenance activities across our production facilities. You will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves leadership of a skilled maintenance team, close collaboration with planning, warehouse, and project resources, and a focus on delivering safe, high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and lead corrective and preventive maintenance activities across production lines and value streams.
- Implement and maintain the plant maintenance master plan and lead annual overhauls.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with planning and warehouse teams, including spare parts sourcing.
- Supervise skilled trades personnel, ensuring adherence to safety standards and high-quality work.
- Issue work orders to PM experts and shift technicians, acting as the gatekeeper for maintenance jobs according to priority.
- Develop and implement subassembly systems to minimize downtime and improve maintenance efficiency.
- Monitor and analyse maintenance KPIs to drive performance improvements.
- Lead internal technical training and coach new team members to raise overall team capability.
- Design and execute improvement projects from concept to implementation, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Oversee project workflows and resources to ensure timely delivery within budget.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure closure of all safety near misses in VS production facilities and utilities.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong background in planning, preventive maintenance, and project execution.
- Experience supervising and coaching skilled trades teams.
- Demonstrated ability to implement improvements and optimize equipment reliability.
- Knowledge of safety standards, plant maintenance systems, and spare parts management.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor KPIs and drive performance improvements.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work across multiple teams and departments.
- A current Alexandria resident
- 3 years experience within an Industrial environment
- A Bachelors Degree within a Mechanical Engineering discipline
