Job Responsibilities: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all production equipment to ensure maximum uptime. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic failures in machines. Oversee maintenance of PVC extrusion lines, welding machines, compound mixers, and magnetic equipment. Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new machines and molds. Develop and update maintenance procedures, checklists, and schedules. Implement preventive maintenance plans to reduce unexpected breakdowns. Track and analyze key maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OEE) to improve equipment reliability. Plan and execute maintenance shutdowns and ensure timely completion. Suggest improvements to enhance machine performance and energy efficiency. Identify and source necessary spare parts, tools, and molds for maintenance activities. Coordinate with the Procurement Department to source local and imported parts. Maintain a spare parts inventory and ensure critical items are always available. Evaluate supplier offers based on quality, cost, and delivery lead time. Prepare and monitor the maintenance budget, including spare parts, labor, and project costs. Track maintenance expenses and report cost deviations to management. Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements in maintenance operations. Supervise maintenance technicians and assign daily tasks and priorities. Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Electrical Maintenance departments to minimize downtime. Support training of technicians to build skill and safety awareness. Keep detailed maintenance logs, reports, and cost analyses. Ensure compliance with safety standards, ISO procedures, and company policies. Provide periodic performance reports and reliability analysis to management. Job Qualifications: 3 Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Lean Six Sigma Certification: Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or equivalent formal training in lean manufacturing methodologies is preferred or knowledge. Professional Engineering & Quality Credentials: Demonstrated knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001 training or internal auditor course) and maintenance best practices. Additional professional certifications are a plus for example, a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification, which validates comprehensive knowledge of maintenance strategies and reliability principles is preferred. Industry Experience: 47 years of experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment. This should include hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementing maintenance programs on a plant floor. Lean Project Exposure: Practical experience working in organizations that practice lean manufacturing, or direct involvement in continuous improvement projects in maintenance (such as OEE improvement, downtime reduction, 5S implementation, etc.). Exposure to TPM programs or Six Sigma projects is highly desirable. Maintenance Leadership: Prior experience in a supervisory capacity or as a lead engineer/technician is an advantage. While this role does not have a formal managerial title, you will be leading the maintenance team; therefore, the ability to delegate tasks, coach technicians, and manage team workloads is important. Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes involving plastics/PVC is a plus. Experience maintaining polymer extrusion lines, mixing equipment, or similar industrial machines will help you quickly adapt to our factory's processes. Additionally, a working knowledge of utility systems (boilers, compressors, HVAC, generators) in a plant setting is beneficial. Other Requirements: Must be willing to occasionally get hands-on alongside technicians for complex repairs. Availability for emergency call-outs or to work extra hours when critical issues arise is expected (though the standard schedule is day shift only). A strong commitment to workplace safety and reliability is required.
