The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of all store facilities, equipment, and technical systems. This includes preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to refrigeration systems, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, lighting, and other store assets to ensure a safe and uninterrupted shopping experience for customers and employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities across assigned stores.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed according to company standards and timelines.
- Conduct regular inspections of store facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement measures to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to refrigeration systems, HVAC units, electrical systems, generators, plumbing, and store equipment.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance work.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
- Monitor the condition of assets and recommend repairs, replacements, or upgrades when necessary.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting maintenance-related expenses.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, food safety requirements, and local regulations.
- Support store operations by ensuring refrigeration and cold-chain equipment function efficiently.
- Participate in emergency response activities and provide technical support during equipment failures
REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably within Retail, FMCG, Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, or Commercial Facilities.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and building maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with maintenance management systems is an advantage.
