Job Objective
The Maintenance Planning Technician is responsible for supporting maintenance planning activities through effective use of SAP-PM system and managing spare parts warehouse operations to ensure availability of critical spare parts for maintenance activities. The role includes creation and follow-up of maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance scheduling, spare parts coordination, inventory control, and maintaining accurate maintenance records and KPIs.
Key responsibility
SAP-PM Responsibilities
- Create, update, and close maintenance work orders in SAP-PM.
- Prepare preventive maintenance (PM) plans and schedules.
- Monitor corrective and preventive maintenance activities through SAP.
- Maintain accurate equipment master data, task lists, BOMs, and maintenance history.
- Generate maintenance reports, KPIs, and backlog reports from SAP.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely execution of work orders.
- Track maintenance notifications and follow up on pending actions.
- Support shutdown and preventive maintenance planning activities.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation is properly recorded and archived in SAP.
Spare Parts Warehouse Responsibilities
- Manage spare parts receiving, issuing, and storage activities.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels.
- Coordinate with procurement for replenishment of critical spare parts.
- Perform periodic inventory checks and cycle counting.
- Ensure correct identification, labeling, and storage of spare parts.
- Track spare parts consumption and support cost control initiatives.
- Maintain warehouse organization according to safety and operational standards.
Key responsibility
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure spare parts availability before planned jobs.
- Monitor obsolete, damaged, and slow-moving spare parts.
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with operations, procurement, and maintenance teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance and warehouse processes.
- Participate in audits related to maintenance records and inventory management.
Academic Experience Required
- Technical diploma in industrial maintenance / administration or related field.
Professional Experience Required
Essential:
- +5 years of hands-on experience as a planning technician
Preferred:
- Pharmaceutical/FMCG background.
Computing Skills
- advanced computer skills (Excel, email, digital forms).
- CMMS knowledge is a plus.
