Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct regular inspections of laboratory and facility equipment to identify maintenance issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and general systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in laboratory and facility equipment.
- Replace faulty components, including wiring, motors, switches, and mechanical parts
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe and organized work environment
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation for safety checks and repairs.
- Implement safety protocols during maintenance work to prevent accidents.
- Monitor the performance and maintenance of the instruments: MSA-OHS-F057Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule
Operational Support:
- Provide immediate support during equipment breakdowns to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager to prioritize urgent repairs.
- Maintain an inventory of essential tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and recommend improvements to enhance the reliability of laboratory and facility equipment. Stay updated on the latest advancements in maintenance techniques and systems.
Qualification Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and facility systems and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Familiarity with maintaining laboratories and facility equipment is a plus
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in an industrial or laboratory setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment safely
