Job Description

This is developmental role designed to provide a comprehensive exposure to hotel finance operations. Through a structured training program, the trainee will rotate across key finance functions, gaining hands-on experience in financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, income auditing, cost control, budgeting, and compliance. Working closely with the Finance leadership team, the trainee will develop technical, analytical, and leadership skills to prepare for future supervisory and management roles within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in structured rotations across the Finance department, including General Cashiering, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Cost Control, General Ledger, and Financial Planning.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Learn and apply internal controls, financial compliance requirements, and audit procedures.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to understand the financial impact of business decisions.
  • Participate in training sessions, development programs, and assigned projects to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Complete assigned learning objectives and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance department.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.

Competencies

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop a career in hospitality finance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SunSystems, Oracle, SAP) or hotel finance systems is an advantage but not required.
