Job Purpose: As the Manager, Advertising & Media Monetization, you will be responsible for constructing the full advertising revenue ecosystem of the Esports World Cup from the ground up. With a remit to grow revenue to multi-millions from scratch, you will define the inventory strategy, pricing, and packaging across broadcast, digital, social, and in-venue media channels.

You will act as the technical and commercial lead for media monetization, managing relationships with media agencies, ad-tech vendors, and digital platforms (e.g., Twitch, YouTube, TikTok). This role requires a specialist with deep experience in digital advertising and programmatic trading who can establish the infrastructure and sales channels necessary to turn EWCF's massive audience reach into a profitable, scalable business unit.

Duties And Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Inventory Architecture

  • Audit and define the complete EWCF advertising inventory, creating a comprehensive Rate Card that spans digital video (Twitch/YouTube), programmatic display, social branded content, and in-venue LED/OOH assets.
  • Develop the go-to-market packaging and pricing strategy, establishing competitive CPM/CPV models for media buyers.
  • Innovate new ad formats and integration opportunities that maximize revenue yield without compromising the viewer experience.

Sales Enablement & Revenue Growth


  • Drive direct revenue by selling media inventory to media agencies and direct advertisers, managing the relationship from pitch to insertion order.
  • Collaborate with the Sponsorship Sales team to support complex pitches, providing technical media expertise and packaging media-only upsells.
  • Develop high-quality sales materials, audience data sheets, and case studies that validate the value of the EWCF audience to advertisers.

Partnerships & Vendor Management


  • Formalize and manage commercial agreements with major digital platforms (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Amazon Ads) to unlock inventory monetization and revenue shares.
  • Manage third-party media sales agencies (if applicable), ensuring they are briefed, motivated, and hitting their revenue targets.

Data, Analytics & Yield Optimization


  • Build and maintain the department's KPIs and dashboards, tracking inventory availability, fill rates, viewability, and revenue pacing.
  • Provide granular post-campaign reporting (impressions, GRPs, CTR, completion rates) to clients to prove ROI.
  • Analyze performance data to optimize pricing strategies and inventory allocation, minimizing waste and maximizing revenue yield.

Education And Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media, Advertising, or similar.
  • 5+ years experience in advertising (digital, media buying, programmatic, OOH, or media sales).

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities


  • Media Economics: Deep understanding of the digital advertising landscape, including DSP/SSP ecosystems, Ad Servers, and programmatic bidding models.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: A builder who is comfortable creating structures, processes, and products from scratch in a startup-like environment.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Strong data analysis skills; able to interpret complex datasets (view-through rates, CPMs) to drive commercial decisions.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Ability to manage relationships with aggressive media agencies and negotiate favourable terms with tech vendors.
  • Industry Context: Experience within the gaming, streaming, or sports media sectors is highly advantageous.
