Purpose of the job
Lead the budgeting process and team to develop and support business requirements, work with management closely reporting and supporting critical decisions to help grow the business.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial support to the business through financial analysis, reporting and driving process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze historical, daily, weekly and monthly trends of the business and provide insights to business leadership on steps that can be taken to drive improvements in profitability.
- Lead, coach and mentor the team (up to three direct reports) from a financial literacy perspective and help business leads identify levers that can be pulled to drive improved performance.
- Develop processes to support the business in terms of the annual operating budget, periodic forecast and monthly review of monthly financial statements and results.
- Promote a strong system of internal controls and pursue opportunities to drive process improvements to improve effectiveness and efficiency
- Participate as a key thought leader, influencing decision-making and strategy of the business
Job specification
Education
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the same function.
Skills and abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills for significant interaction with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical abilities. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, with advanced/expert skills in Excel.
- Ability to partner with key stakeholders as a trusted business advisor.
