Overview

As the Manager – Business Operations at Inception, you will lead strategic and high priority initiatives across the business functions. You will be responsible for rapid decision support to executive leadership, leading cost optimization and productivity initiatives. You will play a critical role in translating leadership priorities into executable plans, removing blockers, and driving measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional execution on priority topics. Your role will encompass a range of activities focused on rapid decision support, cost optimization, execution leadership, and organizational coordination.

  • Drive cross-functional execution of high-priority business initiatives, ensuring alignment to leadership objectives and delivery timelines
  • Provide rapid, structured decision support to executive leadership through data-driven analysis, clear options, trade-offs, and actionable recommendations
  • Diagnose and resolve critical business issues across delivery, resourcing, operations, and organizational effectiveness through hands-on intervention
  • Drive cost optimization programs across the organization, including workforce planning, role mix optimization, vendor management, and utilization improvements
  • Identify and implement productivity and efficiency levers across delivery teams, tracking impact and ensuring sustained outcomes
  • Support the setup and end-to-end execution of strategic programs with high leadership visibility, ensuring disciplined governance and measurable results
  • Partner closely with business, delivery, finance, and HR teams to align on priorities, remove execution bottlenecks, and accelerate outcomes
  • Build and maintain executive-ready reporting, including dashboards, trackers, business cases, and progress narratives for leadership forums
  • Develop clear execution roadmaps with defined milestones, ownership, and success metrics across initiatives
  • Establish program governance structures, including cadence, reporting mechanisms, and risk management frameworks
  • Track initiative performance against targets, proactively identifying risks and driving mitigation actions
  • Simplify and standardize processes across teams to improve operational efficiency and scalability
  • Build repeatable playbooks, templates, and operating mechanisms to support consistent execution across the organization
  • Support organizational design and resourcing decisions based on business priorities, pipeline demand, and cost considerations
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives, embedding a culture of accountability, speed, and execution excellence
  • Act as a central coordination point across functions, ensuring alignment, clear communication, and timely decision-making
  • Support ad-hoc strategic analyses and deep dives for leadership on emerging priorities and business challenges

Qualifications

Skills and attributes for success

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in roles such as strategy consulting, strategy execution, program management, or leadership roles at startup.
  • Proven track record of leading high-stakes, time-sensitive initiatives with senior leadership visibility.
  • Exceptional structured problem solving and business judgment, with the ability to operate effectively under ambiguity.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
