Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or a related field.
Experience: 12+ years of experience providing technical leadership and managing projects with specific expertise in decarbonization initiatives, ESG reporting, carbon capture projects, carbon offsets reporting, registration & trading and related topics.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have demonstrated significant experience in decarbonization expertise, carbon management, energy transition, sustainability etc.
- Experience in carbon offset projects through industrial & sequestration methodologies and adept with technological innovations in carbon removal.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards related to carbon emissions.
- Experience in the complete life cycle of carbon offsets and their requirements for validation and verification until they are trade ready.
- Up to date with the latest trends in Carbon offset technologies, well versed in carbon credit analysis, related Business Development and Project Management.
- Up to date with the latest regulations in carbon offset management and carbon markets including relations with global certification bodies and trading entities.
- Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP) by AEE will be a plus.
Responsibilities:
- To develop and manage a team of carbon offset reporting professionals, verification professionals overseeing multiple projects within the consultancy.
- To drive internal sustainable initiatives and ESG reporting for all in-house subsidiaries and parent entity.
- To Implement the business plan with necessary in-house capabilities and foster external collaborations/partnerships, where necessary.
- Â To develop and manage carbon management & trading strategies and advise the management on prospective projects with detailed technical and commercial evaluations.
- Develop organizational strategies for the entity and set out the organizations vision, mission, key metrics and KPIâs that will fit into the organizations project portfolio.
- Build a detailed understanding of the regional landscape and scout, identify and secure projects that fit the internal guidelines and investment KPIâs.
- Establish global and regional collaborations with entities that work in this domain and develop working agreements with such entities.
- Identify and build on Carbon Offset opportunities to be integrated into the organizationâs portfolio, in line with the organizationâs strategy.
- Help identify and evaluate existing brownfield projects in the region and help build on prospective greenfield projects
- Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders for Carbon Offset projects (e.g., national, and international project developers, and institutional agencies).
- Support in talent development and recruitment as required for building the entity.
- Provide the management with periodic progress reports and performance evaluations on the projects and the entity.
- Develop the organizations sustainability reports and disclosures.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops on carbon management and sustainability practices.
- Raise awareness among staff and stakeholders about the importance of reducing carbon footprint.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in carbon accounting, carbon markets, and climate policies.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and webinars to enhance professional knowledge.
