Job Purpose:
- Manage the Fish Husbandry program at Corallium, overseeing the care, display, and conservation of Red Sea fish species. Responsible for ensuring world-class animal welfare standards, inspiring exhibits, and scientific contributions while managing aquarist teams and supporting conservation initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Core Duties
- Direct and oversee the husbandry of a diverse range of Red Sea fishes, ensuring excellent health, nutrition, and welfare.
- Provide leadership in exhibit design and management, ensuring naturalistic, sustainable, and engaging habitats for fish collections.
- Manage, train, and mentor the Fish Aquarist team, building technical capability and career development.
- Work closely with veterinary services on proactive health monitoring, disease prevention, and treatments.
- Engage in conservation and research projects related to Red Sea fisheries, biodiversity, and habitat protection.
- Support guest engagement and education by providing expertise for public programming, tours, and interpretation.

- Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, Zoology, Fisheries Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 810 years experience in public aquarium or fisheries research institution, with at least 3 years in a managerial/curatorial role.
- Demonstrated expertise in fish husbandry, nutrition, and exhibit design.
Skills:
- Leadership and team management.
- Fish health diagnostics, nutrition planning, and water quality interpretation.
- Strong research and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Job Context:
- Requires hands-on work in aquatic systems, including large exhibit diving.
- Occasional fieldwork and collection trips.
