The role is responsible to lead, plan, and manage all commissioning activities for hyperscale and enterprise data centers, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, ICT, and control systems are fully validated, integrated, and performance-tested prior to handover. The role ensures readiness for operational launch through structured testing, documentation, and stakeholder coordination aligned with du and client technical standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead end-to-end commissioning of all critical systems (MEP, BMS, Fire, ICT, and security systems) for hyperscale and retail data centers.
- Develop and manage commissioning plans, procedures, and integrated system testing (IST) schedules in coordination with EPC, OEMs, and client representatives.
- Validate all levels of testing (Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, Level 15) ensuring compliance with design intent and performance criteria.
- Coordinate with design consultants, engineering, operations, and vendor teams to close out pre-functional and functional testing issues.
- Supervise site readiness for power-on, energization, load testing, and reliability trials.
- Interface with hyperscale customers (Microsoft, AWS, Google, etc.) to align commissioning methodology and milestones with global standards.
- Lead review and approval of commissioning documentation including procedures, checklists, redlines, and test scripts.
- Oversee third-party commissioning agents to ensure quality and technical integrity of deliverables.
- Manage risk registers and ensure lessons learned are captured for continuous improvement.
- Support the Director Data Center Engineering in handover to Operations and ensuring readiness for SLAs and warranty periods.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- (Preferred) Certified Commissioning Professional (CxA, ASHRAE, or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure delivery, with at least 5 years in data center commissioning.
- Proven track record in managing integrated system testing for Tier III/IV or hyperscale facilities.
- Experience in liquid cooling systems, high-density compute environments, and automation-driven testing workflows.
