Job Description

Reports to: Director, AUC Venture Lab

Purpose:

To lead the design and delivery of the AUC Venture Lab's Deep Tech acceleration program, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and market-ready ventures. The role focuses on enabling early-stage, science-based startups through structured support and mentorship, while strengthening the lab's engagement with the regional innovation ecosystem and ensuring the successful translation of technical innovations into scalable businesses

Responsibilities:

  • Program Design & Management: Lead the design and execution of the Deep Tech acceleration program, while ensuring full alignment with the unique needs of science-based startups and the effective translation of research into commercial ventures. Structure comprehensive mentorship, training, and milestone-based tracking systems, while ensuring that participating founders receive the tailored support necessary for technical validation and rapid growth. Develop and implement strategic plans for startup support, while ensuring the identification of market opportunities and the maximization of success rates for deep tech innovations.
  • Scouting & Ecosystem Engagement: Manage the outreach and selection process for deep tech startups, while ensuring a robust pipeline of high-potential applicants with verified technical feasibility and commercial viability. Represent the AUC Venture Lab in local and regional innovation ecosystems, while ensuring strong partnerships with engineering institutions, corporates, and key industry players to support the program's objectives.
  • Monitoring, Reporting & Strategy: Monitor and evaluate program activities and sponsor engagements, while ensuring that all technical initiatives meet stakeholder expectations and deliver measurable impact. Organize data and prepare technical reports and documents, while ensuring accurate tracking of program metrics and the timely communication of progress to donors and leadership. Contribute to thought leadership and knowledge generation, while ensuring the AUC Venture Lab remains a leading authority on deep tech entrepreneurship trends and best practices.
  • Additional Related Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Engineering or Science background is a plus.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Must include 5 years in entrepreneurship or relevant fields.

Technical Skills:

  • Leadership & Management: Strong team management, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
  • Communication: Excellent public speaking, pitching, and networking abilities.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Adobe products and design is a plus.
  • Operational: Ability to multi-task and manage complex programs.
