Job description:

Strategic Contribution
  • Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Health and Safety function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company's strategy.
  • Assist with the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and execute the strategic agenda of the Health, Safety and Environment function to deliver RSG vision and mission
Budget
  • Contribute to the preparation of the functional budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure the effective implementation of RSG H&S Management system and H&S requirements in respective marine programs.
  • Review marine contractors Construction Phase Health Safety and Environmental Plan, Emergency response plan, risk assessment etc as required.
  • Advise and provides technical
  • support to marine project team on all marine H&S matters and reviews.
  • Deliver marine H&S training and awareness, advise RSG and Contractors on statutory training requirements and compliance.
  • Attend pre-job, planning and other consultants/ Contractors meetings as required and supervise the consultants /Contractors on area-specific H&S inspections, audits, reports, certifications, permits, etc.
  • Conducts regular H&S inspections, scheduled audit programs, H&S meetings as required.
  • Investigate H&S incidents and near-misses as per RSG process and prepare investigation report, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of actions.
  • Development and implementation of H&S Plans and emergency response plans that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as local requirements on site
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet
  • corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.
Safety, Quality & Environment
  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of Health & Safety function's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Qualification and Experience
  • A minimum of 8 year's practical experience in marine occupational H&S.
  • Holding a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or other allied fields.
  • Holding certificates in Maritime Occupational Health and Safety.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH Qualified/Accreditations, H&S relevant training and qualified as an internal auditor.
