Manager Markets - Sub-Saharan Africa and Islands

Join Etihad Airways as Markets Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa & Indian Ocean, where you will lead a team of Revenue Management specialists responsible for driving commercial performance across a diverse portfolio of markets including South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, DRC, Eritrea, Seychelles, Zanzibar and the Maldives. Managing a cross-functional team covering Pricing, Demand and Flight Management, you will ensure market strategies are effectively executed, performance targets are achieved, and opportunities to improve revenue outcomes are identified and acted upon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced airline Revenue Management professional who enjoys leading teams and delivering results in a fast-paced international environment.

Accountabilities:

• Own the revenue performance of the Sub-Saharan Africa and Indian Ocean portfolio, ensuring market objectives are delivered across pricing, demand forecasting, inventory and flight performance.
• Lead and develop a team of managers across Pricing, Demand, Flight Management and Analytics, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Ensure market and point-of-sale strategies are effectively executed, monitoring performance and taking corrective action where required to achieve revenue targets.
• Oversee forecast accuracy, demand plans and pricing performance across the portfolio, ensuring decisions are supported by sound analysis and market intelligence.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer demand patterns, identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance and revenue delivery.
• Work closely with Network Planning, Sales, Commercial Agreements and Revenue Management stakeholders to resolve market challenges and support business objectives.
• Promote a test-and-learn mindset within the team, leveraging insights from previous performance, special events and market developments to continuously optimize results.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years experience within Airline Revenue Management, Pricing, Inventory Management or a related commercial function.
• Proven experience leading teams, including the management and development of people leaders.
• Strong understanding of airline revenue management principles, including pricing, demand forecasting, inventory optimization and commercial performance management.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and drive performance through others.
