The Job based in United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

The Powerplant Manager supports the Head – Powerplant in managing the operational and technical aspects of Sanad Capital's diverse portfolio of commercial aircraft engines, ensuring asset value optimization, regulatory compliance, and technical excellence.

This role focuses on supporting underwriting and valuation of engine assets and new investments, overseeing engine transitions and technical diligence, managing repairs and vendor performance, and ensuring adherence to operational, quality, and safety standards.

The incumbent collaborates with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners to ensure transparency, efficiency, and asset integrity. Acting as a technical deputy to the Head – Powerplant when required, the role also provides mentorship to team members, drives project delivery, and contributes to global operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Policies and Procedures:

  • Ensure strict compliance with approved Powerplant policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Recommend process improvements based on operational feedback and best practices.
  • Support review and negotiation of lease agreements, purchase/sale contracts, and LOIs to mitigate technical risks.
  • Ensure alignment with technical lease provisions, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards.

2. Technical Oversight and Transition Management:

  • Lead technical due diligence, pre-buy inspections, and lease transition processes for engine assets.
  • Oversee engine storage, induction, redelivery, and delivery preparation to ensure compliance with airworthiness and lease terms.
  • Coordinate technical documentation review and validation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Represent Sanad at MROs, OEMs, and customer sites during inspections, transitions, and audits.

3. Portfolio Management and Valuation Support:

  • Support the Head – Powerplant in engine valuation, forecasting, and portfolio performance analysis.
  • Contribute technical inputs for investment and divestment decisions.
  • Monitor engine health, LLP status, and shop visit schedules to ensure accurate asset tracking.
  • Prepare periodic portfolio reports and technical summaries for management and customers.

4. Repair Management and Vendor Coordination:

  • Manage repair work scopes, vendor selection, quotation reviews, and cost analyses.
  • Track repair progress, ensuring projects meet cost, TAT, and quality objectives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, MROs, and service providers to ensure best value.
  • Recommend technical improvements or cost optimization opportunities.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES Minimum Qualifications(Education/Certification/Licensure/Professional Membership)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • FAA or EASA Powerplant certification (or equivalent recognized international qualification) is required.
  • Additional certification or training in Project Management or Asset Management is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • 8 to 10 years of professional experience in powerplant management, engine leasing, or technical operations.
  • At least 3 years in a relevant role such as powerplant management within an airline, leasing company, engine consultancy, OEM, or related organization.
  • 1 to 3 years of project management or leadership experience, involving engine repair projects, transitions, or technical oversight.
  • Proven experience in lease transition, repair management, and engine documentation audits.
  • Familiarity with major commercial engine types (e.g., CFM56-5B/7B, V2500-A5, Trent 700) and their maintenance programs.

Interprets and applies technical lease and purchase agreement provisions, ensuring full compliance and risk control.

4.Project and Repair Management

Leads engine repairs and technical projects effectively, balancing cost, quality, and schedule.

5.Analytical and Valuation Support

Supports engine valuation and forecasting through technical and commercial analysis.

6.Attention to Detail and Quality Orientation

Maintains precision in technical documentation, cost assessments, and asset tracking.

7.Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

Communicates complex technical information clearly and collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

8.Mentorship and Deputy Responsibility

Provides technical guidance and acts as deputy to the Head – Powerplant in their absence to ensure operational continuity.

9.Problem-Solving and Decision-Making

Demonstrates sound analytical thinking and solution-oriented judgment in complex technical and commercial issues.

10Language and Digital Proficiency

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).

Fluent in English with an IELTS Band Score of at least 7.0 or equivalent.
