Job Description

Procurement Manager - BESS will oversee and optimize the end-to-end supply chain processes within our Solar/BESS EPC projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of procurement strategies, vendor management, and inventory control specific to the solar energy industry. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of materials, components, and services necessary to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management:

  • Lead and manage procurement processes for solar equipment, materials, and services required for projects.
  • Negotiate and establish relationships with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Monitor the global solar market to identify new suppliers, emerging trends, and cost-saving opportunities.

Logistics And Delivery Coordination

  • Oversee the logistics, transportation, and warehousing of solar materials and equipment.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all required components to project sites, while managing transportation costs and risks.
  • Coordinate with project managers to align supply chain operations with project timelines.

Vendor And Supplier Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring consistent quality and on-time delivery.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or costs.

Inventory And Stock Control

  • Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Implement inventory optimization techniques to minimize excess stock and associated costs.

Cost Optimization

  • Continuously evaluate and recommend strategies to reduce supply chain costs without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  • Monitor and manage the budget for procurement and supply chain activities.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, such as material shortages, transportation delays, or price volatility.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure the uninterrupted supply of critical project materials.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance.
  • Set clear performance goals and metrics for team members, conducting regular evaluations.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to procurement, logistics, and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong preference for experience in the BESS, solar, renewable energy, or EPC industries.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g. CSCP, CPSM).
