Job Description
The role ensures all roadway designs, alignments, access points, and mobility solutions comply with AD Ports development standards, DMT regulations, and infrastructure requirements. The position supports the one-stop approval process by providing expert engineering evaluation, resolving design issues, and coordinating with authorities and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and integrated road networks.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical review of all road and highway design submissions, ensuring compliance with AD Ports development standards, DMT regulations, and national roadway design guidelines.
- Review geometric design, road cross sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, pavement design, junction layouts, access points, and mobility strategies to ensure safe and efficient traffic movement.
- Evaluate traffic impact studies, access management plans, vehicle circulation, turning radii, parking layouts, and public transport integration for proposed developments.
- Assess connectivity to existing road networks, ensuring appropriate tie-ins, right-of-way allocations, and alignment with master-plan infrastructure requirements.
- Review and coordinate utility corridor layouts within road reserves, ensuring adequate space allocation for wet and dry utilities according to authority standards.
- Provide technical comments and recommendations to developers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve design issues and improve road network functionality.
- Analyze road safety considerations including visibility, pedestrian crossings, intersection control, speed-calming measures, and site-specific constraints.
- Coordinate with planning, urban design, infrastructure, and environmental teams to ensure integrated development solutions throughout master-planned areas.
- Review submissions related to plot access, driveway permits, heavy-vehicle movement, logistics routes, and industrial traffic requirements.
- Ensure all road and highway designs incorporate sustainability, walkability, shade structures, universal access, and multimodal mobility considerations.
- Participate in stakeholder and authority meetings, providing professional input on road layouts, transport planning, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor updates to road design standards, traffic regulations, DMT manuals, and best practices, ensuring AD Ports review processes remain compliant.
- Prepare technical reports, review summaries, and approval recommendations for internal decision-making and external authority submissions.
- Support improvements to the design-review workflow by ensuring clear, timely, and coordinated responses to developers and consultants.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with roads, transport, traffic engineering, and infrastructure consultants to ensure accurate, compliant, and well-integrated road-network proposals.
- Manage consultant deliverables from concept stage through detailed design, ensuring timelines, quality, and regulatory alignment.
- Conduct design review workshops to resolve technical issues related to road geometry, traffic impacts, utilities interfaces, and access management.
- Provide consultants with clear technical comments, design directions, and requirements for revisions and authority submissions.
- Support leadership with roadway diagrams, circulation studies, and layout alternatives to facilitate decision-making and approvals.
