DGCX is an electronic commodity and currency derivatives exchange with over 65 members from across the globe, offering futures and options contracts covering the precious metals, energy and currency sectors. DGCX is a subsidiary of DMCCA (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority), a Dubai Government Authority for trade, enterprise and commodities.
DGCX also owns and operates one of the region's largest and multi-asset Clearing House Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC). Both DGCX and DCCC are regulated by the Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA) and are recognized by local and international regulators across the globe.
Role Summary:
The primary objective of this role is to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of DGCX IT systems, which includes EOS Trading platform (Trading and Surveillance System), Clearing (DCCC) applications, Fee system and other ancillary applications that are essential for running DGCX's business operation.
The role includes managing Test Market (UAT), Linux Server Administration and to provide necessary technical supports to members/partners for on boarding and daily operation.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure BOD and EOD Processes are conducted as per scheduled to achieve agreed uptime.
- Responsible for real-time monitoring and administration of Production and UAT systems to ensure availability of key process, corresponding hardware and layered software (OS, Data bases)
- Performing necessary scheduled tasks related to EOS Trading, Clearing, RMS and Fee Software
- Successful planning, change and release management of EOS Application
- EOS System upgrades, troubleshooting, application log review and co-ordination with CFT team for necessary support
- On boarding Members, ISV's and QVs on FIX 5.0 and EMAPI
- Support to Member, ISVs on timely basis
- Successful conducting of Internal & External Mock Testing involving Members, ISV's and QVs
- Provide support to the DGCX Help Desk, Surveillance and Clearing departments on their technical needs and maintenance of the application such as EOS Trader, EOS Admin and EOS Clear, Scila, Fee System
- Explore automation of manual processes to avoid human interference, errors and time saving by Scripting in Windows and Linux environment
- Planning, installation and maintenance of UAT, internal & external Test Environments and EOS Shadow Environment.
As a part of the IT team responsible for:
- Linux and Windows Servers Administration. OS and patches update using RED HAT Satellite Server
- Necessary Data Base Administration (My SQL and Microsoft SQL)
- Maintain file sharing, print sharing, web server, database, anti-virus, patch management, application virtualization, image deployment, and proprietary services
- Support to LAN Admin for Windows Hyper-V environment.
- Ensure secure operation of all servers and services through the use of security and encryption tools such as IPSec, SSH, and SSL
- Support desktop support teams by investigating complex escalated issues
- Timely completion of Data Centre related activities e.g. server installation, co-ordination with third-party vendors for troubleshooting etc as and when required.
- Monitor system logs and activity on all servers.
- Administer, verify, and restore from Data backups.
- Assist HOD while designing new technology to support business requirement
- Manage project life cycle e.g., feasibility study, conceptual design (if required), implementation, documentation, user training, enhancement and closure
- Management of Secondary Operations Centre
- As a part of IT team to provide necessary inputs for Colocation planning, support and maintenance
- Website maintenance and necessary support
- Evaluate and implementation of new technology to improve efficiency
- Interact with the Network team and provide necessary inputs for application access and help them in designing LAN, WAN and Network Security infrastructure.
- Monitor and review vendor services
- Arrange regular progress meetings with vendors
- Provide and review information about operational problems, failures, tracing of faults and disruptions related to the service delivered as per the agreement.
- Conducting systems tuning as per vendor suggestion to improve availability and efficiency of systems. Ensure necessary processes are followed to maintain data Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability
- Conducting periodical document review to ensure relevant documents are up to date
- Generate necessary data for MIS reports which are critical for business
- Assist Sr. Manager/HOD for system performance review and Capacity Planning
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Computer Science/ Electronics or equivalent
- At least 5 years hands -on experience on Exchange Technology
- Sound knowledge of Exchange application & system architecture.
- Hands-on experience on FIX Protocol
- Linux Server and Database Administration
- Basic understanding on Java programming languages and IT network concepts
- Awareness of Risk Management within Exchange and Clearing Operations
- Redhat Linux Administration & Scripting
- MySQL Database Administration
- Java Applications
- Windows Server Administration and Maintenance
- Project Management and ITIL certification preferred
