Manager, TAM & Strategic Planning

Brief Job Description:

The Manager, Turnaround Management, TAM & Strategic Planning is responsible for leading turnaround planning and execution activities, managing key technical accounts, and driving strategic planning initiatives across the organization. The role ensures successful delivery of plant turnaround/shutdown programs, strengthens customer and stakeholder relationships, and supports the development and execution of corporate and departmental strategies to achieve operational excellence, business growth, and long-term sustainability.

1. Turnaround Management & Planning

• Lead the planning, preparation, scheduling, execution, and closure of turnaround (TA), shutdown, and major maintenance activities.
• Develop comprehensive turnaround strategies, execution plans, schedules, resource plans, and risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, Procurement, and Contractors to ensure successful turnaround execution.
• Ensure turnaround activities are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality requirements.
• Monitor turnaround KPIs, critical paths, milestones, and resource utilization.
• Lead turnaround readiness reviews and post-turnaround lessons learned sessions.
• Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual and HSE requirements.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, productivity improvement, and process optimization during turnaround events.
• Prepare management reports and executive dashboards related to turnaround performance.

2. Strategic Planning

• Lead the development and implementation of departmental and organizational strategic plans.
• Align turnaround and technical services objectives with corporate strategy.
• Develop annual business plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.
• Establish and monitor strategic KPIs and performance scorecards.
• Conduct market analysis, benchmarking studies, and business performance assessments.
• Prepare executive reports and presentations for leadership review.
• Lead strategic initiatives, transformation programs, and continuous improvement projects.
• Identify strategic risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation and improvement actions.

3.Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop planning, turnaround, teams.
• Foster collaboration across departments and external stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Support succession planning and workforce capability development.
• Drive performance management and employee engagement initiatives.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or related discipline).
• MBA or master's degree in business administration, Project Management, Strategic Management, or related field is preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in turnaround management, maintenance planning, technical services, or industrial operations.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
• Proven experience managing major turnaround/shutdown projects in industrial, petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, power, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in strategic planning and performance management.
