JOB PURPOSE:
- Responsible to ensures all Tooling, GSE and vehicles (including high level access equipment) is readily available and serviceable to support the completion of Aircraft scheduled/unscheduled Line Maintenance and A Checks safely and on-time without interruption.
Managerial accountabilities:
- Strategy Formation and Implementation: Determine the future near term and midterm Tools and GSE requirements and develop divisional strategy to satisfy the requirements..
- Leadership and Direction: Provide clear direction for divisional objectives, fostering performance, development, and motivation within the team.
- Organization Structure: Collaborate on designing an efficient organizational structure and IT systems to enhance resource utilization and availability.
- Budgeting and Financial Performance: Responsible for the budget preparation for GSE, Tooling Vehicles and associated facilities, must continuously monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement without impact to quality standards or interruption to aircraft maintenance activities.
Job specific accountabilities:
- Manage the entire Tools and GSE stores activities relating to store keeping, Tools and GSE handling, Issuance and receipt, Tools and GSE segregation, storage conditions, packaging, Calibration expiry control, data integrity and stock integrity to comply with company standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure 24-hour 7-days timely deliveries of Tools and GSE at required locations to support Line maintenance and A checks.
- Ensures Tools and GSE are available, serviceable and optimal for the scheduled/ unscheduled Line maintenance and A Checks.
- Implement a pro-active Tools and GSE Inspection, Servicing, Calibration and Repair Program to ensure all Tools & GSE / Vehicles are maintained to the highest of standards, in full compliance with OEM, airport and regulatory authority requirements to avoid disruption or compromise to the operation.
- Communicate with cross functional teams such as Planning, Line maintenance, A Check, MCC, Supply Chain and Authorities on business requirements, progress status of Tools and GSE serviceability, limitation and delays.
- Ensure that records of Tools and GSE transactions are recorded accurately and reconciled at end of maintenance events to prevent tools being left on the Aircraft post maintenance.
- Develop and implement procedures and processes for safe custody and secure movement of Tools and GSEs at all times.
- Oversee Tools and GSE stock level inventory accuracy in the Tools and GSE stores including routine stock audits and use of technology.
- Develop and implement an effective vehicle allocation system, to accurately capture each vehicle user and ensure qualifications, validity and Airside Driver Permit (ADP) are valid and applicable prior to issue / release of the vehicle keys.
- Implement an inspection and reporting process to report and track damages to Tools & GSE by the end users, all reported defects to be verified and repaired in line with OEM repair instructions and standards in the shortest possible timeframes.
- Ensures that the Line/A Check maintenance facilities such as tool store, GSE staging areas, are all fully functional and are kept clean and continuously organized in an orderly manner to meet the highest standards.
- Resolve Tools and GSE issues relating to administration, staff escalations and deviations.
- Quarterly/Annually planning of resources, training, leave, budgetary requirements, business unit objectives to ensure Tools and GSE department meet regulatory and operational requirements.
- Ensures that any corrective action resulting from a Quality Assurance Audit / Inspection is handled in a timely manner and is effective in preventing reoccurrence of deficiencies.
- Responsible for recommending enhancement processes and procedures to contribute to improved availability, reliability and utilization of Tools and GSE.
- Preparing performance reports and dashboards to present/review achievements on Tools and GSE targeted business goals.
- Determine and monitor the operating costs for the Tools and GSE section.
- Manage and Report incidents / accident occurrences as per company and regulatory procedures to minimize injury to Saudia employees and other forms of loss.
- Adhere to the company safety, health, and environmental policy.
- Promotes Safety culture through implementation of SMS processes and formal Risk Assessments when implementing significant changes.
- Implements the Human Factors and Human Performance principles and awareness in the working environment.
- Coach, mentor and inspire staff within the GSE & Tooling team to enhance their productivity engagement.
- Undertaking other such duties as may be reasonably requested by the General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain discipline (Warehousing/Logistics) or Engineering discipline (Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Industrial).
- Extensive knowledge of Airline inventory and warehouse management
- Specialist Knowledge in Aircraft Equipment and Tooling
- Good Knowledge of related CAA requirements and industry best practice.
- Proficiency in computer applications Proficiency in computer applications and Maintenance Information system (MIS).
Minimum Experience:
- 10 years related field experience, 5 of which should be in a managerial/supervisory role within aviation supply chain environment or Aircraft Equipment and Tools Maintenance.
- Holds direct working experience within the aviation industry to include liaison with MRO's, OEM's and Regulatory Authorities.
- Holds working experience in both Line and Base maintenance working environment. experienced with processes and necessary workflows.
- Experienced in leading and developing a team in a frequently changing environment with continuously changing work-load schedules.
