Your key roles& responsibilities include:
. Support and assist the APAC Chief Compliance Officer in compliance risk management
. Serve as a bridge in communications with Tokyo Head Office, Regional Head Office(APCF and other departments) and APAC offices
. Prepare, communicate and present reports to regional management and Head office, including state of compliance with Head Office policies, laws and regulations
. Provide support, guidance and advice on Financial Crime matters to APAC offices
. Lead and support regional Financial Crime risk management initiatives
. Support and assist in the design, development, delivery and execution of best-in-class compliance framework and programme
. Support compliance transformation programme development and execution, and prepare communication and status updates to stakeholders
. Support the identification, assessment and management of key compliance risks across the region
. Assist in driving regional consistency and minimum standards
. Support in the oversight of the country compliance teams and the execution of the compliance programme in APAC
. Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders across different functions and countries
What you should have:
. A Bachelor's degree
. Minimum 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in Financial Crime Compliance within global financial institutions or regulatory bodies
. Professional proficiency in Japanese is required toeffectively perform the responsibilities of this role, including reviewing and interpreting Japanese regulatory guidance and documentation, preparing executive-level correspondence and reports in Japanese, and engaging with senior stakeholders within the Tokyo Head Office
. Experience in leading regulatory engagements, examinations, remediation programmes and independent reviews is a must
. Strong understanding of international regulatory expectations including FATF standards and major regulatory frameworks across APAC markets
. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to acquire consensus among stakeholders
. Strong willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to team efforts
