A legacy automotive company (LAC), part of a major family holding group (one of Saudi Arabia's leading family-owned conglomerates), headquartered in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia, with OPCOs across automotive, transportation, FMCG, consumer goods and healthcare. LAC represents several globally renowned OEMs across multiple segments and employs 2,750+ staff; managing over 100+ facilities nationwide, including showrooms, offices, service centres, stockyards and warehouses.

About the role:

This is a unique leadership opportunity for a seasoned executive to serve as the Managing Director / Executive Director – Facilities Management at our client's company. Reporting directly to the Automotive CEO, the incumbent will lead a division comprising approximately 70 employees, with 4 Directors and functional Heads reporting directly to them. The division currently manages 100+ facilities across the Kingdom, including integrated showrooms, offices, warehouses and stockyards.

This is not a routine facilities role — the scope is strategic and transformative. The successful candidate will shape and execute the facilities management strategy for LAC, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, safety and innovation across a large and complex portfolio. They will play a critical role in supporting sales and service growth, reducing costs and driving projects that impact company's profitability and long-term sustainability.

Job-Specific Accountabilities

  • Lead the Facilities Management division, ensuring strategic alignment with client's transformation and expansion agenda.
  • Oversee operations for 122 facilities nationwide, covering showrooms, service centres, offices, stockyards, and warehouses.
  • Manage the work of 4 Directors: Maintenance (including HSE), Engineering (projects and construction), Facilities, and Real Estate & Permits.
  • Drive operational excellence, ensuring cost optimization, safety, and compliance across the portfolio.
  • Implement and monitor Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks for operational risk, safety and continuity.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical analysis for new projects, assessing ROI, IRR, and long-term viability.
  • Anticipate and support KSA's rapid market growth by contributing to facility location strategy and operational optimization (e.g., site rationalization or new site selection).
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Real Estate, Sales, After-Sales, Treasury, Brand/OEM leaders) and external partners (consultants, contractors) to deliver successful projects.
  • Oversee facilities maintenance, engineering projects, real estate permitting, and compliance with government regulations.
  • Support sales and service growth by providing reliable, safe, and efficient facilities infrastructure.
  • Mentor and develop the Facilities Management leadership team, instilling accountability and a performance-driven culture.
  • Communicate and liaise directly with the Owner and Group COO on strategy, operations, and major facilities projects.

Qualifications/Requirements Required:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Facilities Management, Real Estate, or related functions, preferably within automotive, retail, or large-scale consumer sectors.
  • Proven expertise in managing large portfolios of facilities (>120), including showrooms, offices, warehouses, and stockyards.
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), health & safety, security, fire and safety compliance, and operational risk management.
  • Experience with project feasibility reviews, including ROI/IRR analysis for new build projects and expansions.
  • Procurement and project control experience advantageous, particularly cost estimation for new facilities projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
