Job Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, program, optimize, and control CNC manufacturing processes for high-precision components. The role will lead process development from prototype and trials through First Article and stable production release.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop complete manufacturing processes and operation sequences for new and existing products.
- Review engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T and provide DFM recommendations.
- Develop CNC machining programs using CAM software, including machining strategies, toolpaths, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
- Conduct machining trials and optimize CNC programs in coordination with CNC Setup Operators.
- Lead manufacturing activities for NPI from prototype and trials through First Article and stable production release.
- Select and optimize cutting tools, machining parameters, cycle time, and tool life.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Improve process capability, productivity, quality, cycle time, scrap rate, and manufacturing cost.
- Develop and maintain process sheets, setup sheets, tooling lists, and approved machining parameters.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Metrology, and Surface Treatment teams.
- Support PFMEA, process validation, CAPA, change control, and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in CNC / precision manufacturing.
- Experience with Swiss-Type / Sliding Head CNC machining is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Titanium and Stainless Steel components is preferred.
- Medical-device manufacturing / ISO 13485 experience is an advantage.
- Strong CNC machining and CAM programming knowledge.
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, machining strategies, feeds & speeds, and process optimization.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Good understanding of G-code and CNC programming principles.
- Knowledge of FANUC controls.
- Knowledge of SPC, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and process validation.
