Marine Biologist

Key Responsibilities

• Study and analyze relationships among organisms in the marine environment.
• Assess the impacts of anthropogenic activities on marine ecosystems.
• Support the planning and implementation of artificial reef programs, coral relocation, and other marine habitat compensation initiatives.
• Liaise with environmental consultants and service providers during program implementation.
• Advise project teams on marine environmental requirements and best practices.
• Collect biological data and specimens and conduct scientific analyses.
• Monitor the health of translocated corals, artificial reefs, and other compensated habitats.
• Study the effects of pollution on marine life and aquatic habitats.
• Monitor and manage wildlife populations, including invasive plant and animal species.
• Develop conservation plans and provide recommendations to NMDC and project management.
• Assist in meetings and coordination with consultants and contractors implementing marine environmental programs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in similar role. Experience in marine environmental monitoring, coral relocation, or artificial reef projects is highly desirable.
• Experience in dredging and civil marine industry is highly preferred.
