Job Description

Marine Engineer (Creek Site)

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Marine Engineer (Creek Site) to join our team! In this role you will get to determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives. The successful candidate applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline and may serve as a technical consultant in area of specialty for management or the client.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Works independently with the assigned tasks under the guidance of the Resident Engineer.
  • May function as discipline Project Marine Engineer on small to medium projects, assuming responsibility for leading the Civil works in the marine area.
  • Monitor day-to-day marine construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to safety regulations, technical specifications, and strict environmental guidelines.
  • Oversee the installation of marine materials, such as concreting of sub-structure works, sheet piling, and dredging operations.
  • Reviews Design Drawings, Shop Drawings, Method Statements, Inspection Test Plan and Project Risks.
  • Ensures compliance of marine and coastal design with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Scopes surveys, studies, and site investigations for marine and coastal developments
  • Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to maintain construction schedules.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring


  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in (Civil/Structural) Engineering and 10+ years of related work experience in marine structural and coastal engineering.
  • Ability to perform in a lead capacity, excellent English written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of current marine and coastal engineering design standards and guidelines.
  • Experience with local approving authorities for marine and coastal works in GCC is an advantage.
