Job Description

A global MNC in the marine technology industry, is seeking a Marine Service Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and commission marine electronic and electrical systems. In this role, you will support production activities, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, and onsite installations, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with technical specifications, installation standards, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, repair, troubleshoot, inspect, and commission marine electronic and electrical equipment.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), field installations, plant commissioning, and sea trials.Perform maintenance and testing in accordance with technical drawings, installation manuals, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain service reports, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Permit-to-Work (PTW), and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with customers on installation requirements and communicate additional project needs to internal teams.
  • Identify and report product or service quality issues.
  • Ensure the proper use and handling of inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Managers and Engineers.

Requirements:

  • ITE, Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Communication, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Candidates with 2-3 years of relevant experience are preferred, although those with less experience who meet the educational requirements are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in the marine industry is an advantage but not essential.
  • Candidates from electronics, electrical, automation, manufacturing, field service, or other technical service industries are welcome to apply.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, servicing, troubleshooting, or maintaining electronic or electrical systems.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites, shipyards, or onboard vessels when required.
  • Able to respond to emergency service calls and support standby or operational requirements when necessary.
