Marine Surveyor

Kalimbassieris Maritime seeks to employ a senior Marine Engineer/Naval Architect as Marine Surveyor for its Alexandria office, Egypt.

We act as Marine Consultants, Surveyors, P&I Correspondents and insurance average agents. Our clients are the international marine insurance markets, H&M underwriters, P&I Clubs, whitelist ship registries and other shipping commercial interests.

Established in Greece in 1979, today we have 12 offices throughout the Mediterranean, Middle East and Black Sea and are the biggest network in the region.

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified Marine Engineer to join our team as a Marine Surveyor, conducting technical inspections and investigations on behalf of P&I Clubs, H&M underwriters, shipowners and other marine stakeholders. The role involves attending vessels to assess damage, machinery condition and other technical matters and producing clear, accurate survey reports.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out marine damage and loss prevention condition surveys onboard ships and floating means (e.g. tugs, offshore vessels, barges)
• Carrying out marine incident investigation work
• Compiling survey reports with findings promptly

Required Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

• Seagoing (Engine Room) experience on merchant vessels or Shipyard Hull repairs experience or in a Marine Surveying firm
• University graduate as Naval Architect/ Marine Engineer
• Work experience – minimum 5 years
• Fluent English and MS Office use
• Able to travel within Egypt and abroad

• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritize tasks
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn cargo related surveying work
