Maritime Lawyer

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the maritime and shipping sector, is seeking a Maritime Lawyer to join their legal team. This role will focus on international maritime law, ship purchase and sale transactions, chartering matters, contract drafting, claims management, and dispute resolution. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice across shipping operations while supporting commercial and regulatory requirements in a dynamic international environment.

About the Requirements:

• Manage and advise on ship purchase and sale transactions, including legal due diligence, contract negotiation, and completion processes.
• Draft, review, and negotiate charterparty agreements, commercial contracts, maritime service agreements, and related legal documentation.
• Handle maritime claims, including cargo disputes, vessel incidents, charterparty claims, insurance matters, and recovery actions.
• Lead dispute resolution matters through negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and litigation support where required.
• Provide legal advice on international maritime regulations, compliance requirements, and commercial risk management.

About You:

• Qualified Lawyer with experience in Maritime Law, International Commercial Law, or Admiralty Law gained within a law firm, shipping company, P&I Club, or maritime organisation.
• Proven expertise in ship sale and purchase transactions, chartering contracts, maritime claims management, and dispute resolution.
• Fluent English and Russian speaker with strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in an international business environment.
