Job Description

Job Title:

Market Advisor -Agricultural Technology, Equine & Aviation and Consumer (MENA)

Location:

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Contract Duration:

This post is being offered on the basis of a 2-year local assignment.

Salary:

AED 258,454 – AED 297,361

Plus 20% of base salary as allowances (10% = Accommodation Allowance & 10% = Travel Allowance)

Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum of the relevant scale and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Subject to satisfactory performance, increments may be payable in line with current Government Policy.

Role Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to support Irish client companies to grow exports in the MENA region, with a focus on AgTech, Equine, Aviation and Consumer sectors across MENA markets. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of sector plans through targeted sales, marketing, and client engagement activities to drive export growth.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop, adapt and execute sector strategies for AgTech, Equine, Aviation and Consumer across the MENA region.
  • Build strong relationships with Irish companies in the portfolio and agree individual and group or cluster-level actions and plans to accelerate export growth.
  • Work with Ireland-based colleagues and client companies to diagnose capability across key business areas and develop robust, scalable market entry and growth plans suited to regional conditions.
  • Assess and constructively challenge business plans, including business models, value propositions, marketing and sales strategies, competitor analysis and market research.
  • Proactively identify and progress new business opportunities for Irish companies through actionable market intelligence, commercial recommendations and the cross-sector expertise of IMEA-based Market Advisers and the wider IMEA Region.
  • Establish and manage an extensive network of decision-makers, buyers, partners, market experts and industry stakeholders in relevant sub-sectors, facilitating introductions that accelerate client growth and reinforce the role of trusted advisor.
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing and promotional activity in key sub-sectors, including trade missions, events and client visits.
  • Deliver agreed KPIs and predetermined activity targets relating to the success and growth of Irish companies, as agreed with the MENA Country Manager, and track and report pipeline, opportunities and outcomes through CRM systems.
  • Represent Enterprise Ireland at client, buyer, Global Irish Network, Ministerial and other relevant events as required.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams and key Irish government partners, including IDA Ireland, Bord Bia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to deliver client outcomes.
  • Mentor and develop colleagues as required, contributing to capability across the wider team.

Functional Competencies (Skills, Experience & Qualifications)

  • Minimum of three years commercial, business development, sales or client-facing experience, preferably within the MENA region and in sectors relevant to Enterprise Ireland clients is essential.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Aviation and Consumer sectors, including key market players, business models, sales processes, emerging opportunities, and the key strengths and challenges within these sectors is essential.
  • An established business network across the Aviation and/or Consumer sectors in MENA, together with a demonstrated ability to build, develop and leverage relationships to support Irish companies seeking to enter the market, grow exports and win business.
  • Strong commercial and consulting skills, with the ability to assess and constructively challenge SME business plans and market strategies to support international growth is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders, clients, buyers and partners, combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills is essential.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently initiate, manage and deliver multiple projects, client activities and events, while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Ability to identify, develop and manage third-party partners and collaborators to enhance in market delivery and support client opportunities.
  • Ability and willingness to support and mentor less experienced colleagues and contribute to overall team capability.
  • Experience using Salesforce, Sales Navigator, Marketo, Canva or similar business development, CRM and marketing platforms is highly desirable.
  • A relevant third-level qualification in business or a related discipline would be beneficial.
