Marketing Communications Intern

The Role

We are looking for a Communications and Community intern who is sharp, organised, and genuinely interested in the startup and VC world. You will work directly with our Director of Communications and Community on the full stack of what a modern VC communications function looks like, from podcast production to community building to portfolio storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Produce our monthly newsletter and Hard Truths, our podcast featuring candid conversations with operators and investors across the region
• Help draft press releases for portfolio fundraising announcements and significant milestones, and pitch them to mainstream tech media
• Create and schedule content across our social media channels
• Edit short-form video clips for social
• Track portfolio and team news, publish updates to the website, and push them across socials
• Monitor press mentions and put together daily briefings
• Support event operations across planning, logistics, marketing collateral, registrations, and post-event follow-ups

By the end of six months, you will have a real sense of what building a great VC brand looks like, across marketing and communications, community, content, events, and public relations. You will have shipped work that helped grow our brand equity, and walked away with a portfolio of public work carrying your fingerprints.

Requirements

• You write well. Clear, concise, no fluff
• You are organised and do not drop the ball on recurring tasks
• You pick up new tools quickly, whether that is Canva, HubSpot, Descript, or whatever comes next
• You think in systems and get curious about how processes could work better
• You have a point of view on tech, startups, or investing, and can back it up
• Bonus: You have already made something. A youtube channel, podcast, blog, newsletter or instagram/tiktok page
