The Specification Manager drives specification-led business growth, demand creation, and project pipeline conversion within the construction and building materials sector. Based in Singapore, this role serves as the key technical and commercial link between architects, consultants, developers, contractors, and internal sales teams. You will take ownership of securing product specifications at the early design and planning stages, influencing project decisions, and ensuring strong specification retention through to project award.
Key Responsibilities
Report directly to the Head of Marketing and Sales and support the execution of specification strategies.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, and relevant authorities to secure product specifications and approvals during the concept and design stages.
Monitor and manage project pipelines to maximise the successful conversion of specifications into awarded projects.
Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports on project progress, market developments, customer activities, and new business opportunities.
Support marketing and sales initiatives through seminars, exhibitions, trade fairs, advertising campaigns, and other branding activities.
Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and support the implementation of business development strategies.
Work closely with the Research & Development team by providing market insights, customer requirements, and industry trends to support product innovation and pricing strategies.
Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities, evaluate competitive positioning, and recommend strategies to strengthen the company's market presence.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Building, Construction, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in specification management or technical sales within the construction or building materials industry.
Good understanding of construction practices, building regulations, and design standards within Southeast Asia.
Well-established professional relationships with architects, consultants, and other industry stakeholders will be an advantage.
Willingness to travel when required.
Possession of a valid driving licence and access to personal transportation will be an advantage for site visits and customer meetings.
