Mason
Reports To: Facilities Supervisor
About The Role
The Mason is responsible for performing civil repair, restoration, and finishing works to preserve the structural condition, serviceability, and aesthetic appearance of assigned buildings. This role requires completing masonry, plastering, tiling, concrete, waterproofing, paving, and minor renovation works to the required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Civil & Surface Repairs: Repair cracks, plaster, blockwork, concrete surfaces, flooring, kerbstones, and pavements.
- Tiling & Grouting: Install and repair tiles and complete grouting works to a high standard of finishing.
- Moisture Protection: Complete minor waterproofing works to protect building structures.
- Surface Preparation: Meticulously prepare civil surfaces for painting and other finishing coats.
- Project Support: Assist with minor renovation works across the properties as directed.
- Asset & Tool Care: Maintain assigned tools and equipment in good working order.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow safety procedures and guidelines during all tasks.
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
- Education: Recognized trade certificate in masonry or civil works.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant masonry experience.
Core Technical Skills
- Demonstrated competency in masonry, tiling, and concrete repairs.
- Strong understanding of waterproofing techniques, plastering, and general finishing works.
- Precision-oriented with a strong eye for physical alignment and material finishing.

- Workmanship Quality: Ensuring precise alignment, durable repairs, and visually consistent finishes.
- Completion Time: Completing assigned work orders and civil tasks within target deadlines.
- Repeat Defects: Minimizing re-work or recurring defects on completed repairs.
- Material Wastage: Utilizing cement, tiles, grout, and waterproofing compounds efficiently to minimize waste.
- Housekeeping: Keeping work sites clean, dust-controlled, and tidy during and after civil repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering fully to company HSE protocols and personal safety measures.
