Primary Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
Build and maintain a feasible, capacity-constrained Master Production Schedule (weekly/daily buckets) aligned to S&OP/SIOP decisions.
Translate the demand plan (forecast, orders, projects) into detailed production plans by line, cell, and work center.
Run MRP/MPS weekly (or as needed), review exception messages, and release/recommend work orders and purchase requisitions.
Perform rough-cut and detailed capacity planning; identify bottlenecks and propose load-leveling, overtime, alternate routing, or subcontracting.
Chair/drive the weekly planning meeting; communicate schedule changes, constraints, and recovery plans.
Manage order promising (ATP/CTP) and provide reliable commit dates to Customer Service/PMs.
Monitor schedule adherence, WIP health, and aging; initiate actions to resolve shortages and delays.
Collaborate with Procurement to ensure material availability, optimal lot sizes, and appropriate safety stocks.
Partner with Engineering/Quality on ECNs, NCRs, and deviations to minimize schedule impact.
Maintain planning master data: lead times, yields, calendars, lot sizing, planning parameters, and BOM/routing effectiveness.
Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, including root cause analysis for misses and systematic fixes.
Provide scenario planning (what-if) for demand surges, outages, and expedited orders.
Report weekly KPIs and publish a clear, single source of truth for the build plan.
