Material Engineer - Fit-Out

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage material requirements for fit-out manufacturing and production projects.
• Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and material requirements.
• Prepare material submittals, technical data sheets, samples, and approvals.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Design, QA/QC, and Project teams to ensure timely material availability.
• Evaluate and recommend suitable materials based on technical specifications, quality, availability, and cost.
• Monitor material procurement, delivery, inspection, storage, and consumption.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical specifications, samples, and material compliance.
• Inspect incoming materials and verify compliance with approved specifications and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of material approvals, test certificates, inspection reports, and material tracking.
• Monitor material wastage and identify opportunities to optimize material utilization.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or deterioration.
• Coordinate with production teams to resolve material-related technical issues.
• Identify material alternatives when required and obtain necessary technical approvals.
• Support project teams in resolving material discrepancies, shortages, and quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved materials, and applicable industry standards.
• Prepare material status reports and provide regular updates to management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in material engineering/material management within fit-out, interior, joinery, aluminum, façade, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction and fit-out materials, finishes, hardware, and related products.
• Experience in material submittals, technical approvals, procurement coordination, and material inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Good knowledge of material quality standards and testing requirements.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and Excel; knowledge of ERP/Material Management systems is an advantage.
• UAE/GCC experience preferred.
