QC Inspector (Material)

We are seeking a highly experienced QC Inspector (Material) to support major Oil & Gas EPC Projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, verifying, monitoring, documenting, and controlling incoming, stored, issued, and installed materials to ensure full compliance with project specifications, client requirements, approved material submittals, applicable codes and standards, and Quality Management System requirements.

This role is critical in ensuring that only compliant materials are accepted and utilized throughout project execution.

YOUR ROLE

As QC Inspector (Material), you will be responsible in the performance of the following but not limited to duties and responsibilities;

Material Inspection & Verification

• Conduct receiving, storage, preservation, and pre-installation inspections of materials and equipment.
• Verify materials against approved drawings, specifications, purchase orders, material requisitions, and material submittals.
• Confirm material type, grade, size, class, rating, dimensions, quantity, manufacturer information, model numbers, serial numbers, heat numbers, and batch numbers.
• Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs), Certificates of Compliance (CoCs), inspection certificates, calibration certificates, and test reports.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Ensure all materials are sourced from approved vendors and manufacturers.
• Inspect materials for damage, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, deformation, or transportation-related defects.

Material Traceability & Documentation Control

• Verify identification markings, tags, heat numbers, batch numbers, and traceability requirements.
• Maintain material traceability records throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all certification and quality documentation is complete and compliant before material acceptance.
• Support material reconciliation and turnover documentation activities.

Storage, Preservation & Handling

• Monitor warehouse and storage conditions to ensure compliance with approved preservation requirements.
• Verify proper segregation, stacking, handling, protection, and environmental controls.
• Ensure shelf-life-controlled materials are correctly identified, monitored, and utilized within validity periods.
• Verify shipping, storage, and preservation requirements for equipment and materials.

Quality Surveillance & Non-Conformance Control

• Raise and maintain Material Inspection Reports (MIRs), Receiving Inspection Reports (RIRs), Quality Surveillance Reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Identify, report, and monitor non-conforming materials and equipment.
• Verify corrective actions and disposition of rejected materials.
• Participate in client, third-party, consultant, and vendor inspections.
• Support quality audits, assessments, and surveillance activities.

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Engineering, Construction, and QA/QC teams.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, traceability logs, quality records, and inspection checklists.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of quality documentation in accordance with project procedures.

HSE Compliance

• Comply with project HSE requirements during inspections and material handling activities.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments.
• Promote a strong quality and safety culture across project activities.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC inspection experience.
• Minimum 3 years of material inspection experience within Oil & Gas, Power, Infrastructure, Marine, Industrial, or EPC construction projects.
• GCC/Middle East project experience.
• Experience working with multinational clients, consultants, and EPC contractors.

Education and Certifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
