Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Material Submittal Engineer with experience in Fire Fighting Systems. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing technical material submittals in compliance with project specifications, consultant requirements, and authority regulations. The role requires coordination with suppliers, procurement, design, and project teams to ensure timely approvals and smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Material Submittals & Documentation
Prepare and submit material submittals for ELV systems including:
- Fire Alarm
- Voice evacuation
- Public address
- Central Battery
- Central monitoring
- Prepare the lux calculation
- Drop voltage calculation
Ensure all submittals comply with:
- Project specifications
- Consultant requirements
- NFPA standards
- UAE Fire & Life Safety Code / Civil Defense requirements
- Review technical datasheets, compliance statements, catalogues, and certificates before submission.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain required technical documents and approvals.
Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, and Project teams for material selection and approval status.
- Address consultant comments and revise submittals accordingly.
- Maintain submittal logs and track approval status to avoid project delays.
- Support procurement team with technically approved materials and alternatives.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all materials meet project BOQ, specifications, and authority approval requirements.
- Verify compatibility of materials with approved shop drawings and system requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for inspections and authority submissions.
Project Support
- Assist project execution teams with technical clarifications related to approved materials.
- Support testing & commissioning teams with technical documents when required.
- Coordinate with site engineers for smooth implementation of approved materials.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in Fire Fighting systems.
- Experience in handling material submittals for Fire Fighting projects in UAE/GCC is preferred.
- Knowledge of Civil Defense approval procedures is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Fire Fighting systems and components.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards and Fire & Life Safety regulations.
- Experience in preparing technical submittals and compliance documents.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and PDF/document management tools.
