Maternity Cover Teacher

Position Title: Maternity Cover Teacher Mathematics, English

Contract Duration: 3 Months, 05 January 2025 to 05 March 2025

Location: Elite Private School, Abu Dhabi

Position Overview:

Elite Private School is seeking a competent and dedicated Maternity Cover Teacher for Mathematics to support teaching and learning during the period of 05 January 2025 to 05 March 2025. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality maths instruction, maintaining continuity of learning, and ensuring that students achieve expected academic outcomes during the absence of the permanent teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Mathematics/English according to the school curriculum and lesson plans.

Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that support students conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.

Prepare daily lesson plans, learning resources, and materials aligned with curriculum objectives.

Administer, mark, and record assessments including classwork, homework, quizzes, and tests.

Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.

Ensure classroom management aligned with school behavior policies.

Maintain accurate student records and complete required documentation.

Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.

Participate in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and required school activities relevant to the period of coverage.

Ensure smooth handover at the end of the cover period to the returning teacher.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field (teaching qualification preferred).

Previous teaching experience in Mathematics (UAE experience preferred but not mandatory).

Strong classroom management and instructional skills.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Familiarity with UAE curriculum standards or international curricula (an advantage).

Ability to adapt quickly and maintain continuity in an already established classroom environment.
