Mechanic

Job Purpose

Perform diagnostics, overhaul, repair, and preventive maintenance of diesel engines and associated systems used in marine, power generation, and industrial applications. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform overhaul, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of engines and engine systems for Marine, Power Generation, and Industrial applications.
• Diagnose mechanical and safety-related faults using diagnostic tools and carry out effective repairs in line with OEM standards.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
• Prepare and maintain accurate job documentation, including time bookings, service reports, failure reports, and parts requirements.
• Identify and verify spare parts requirements to support efficient job completion and timely delivery.
• Safely use and maintain tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems, reporting any defects or damage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve workshop and service objectives.
• Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical/vocational qualification in Mechanical or Diesel Engine Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in diesel engine overhaul, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Hands-on experience working with MTU or Volvo Penta engines; experience with marine, power generation, or industrial engines is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engine diagnostics, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with MTU and Volvo Penta service standards and workshop procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and service documentation.
