We are seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) and Gas Turbine Compressor (GTC) systems commissioning. The role is primarily based in Doha, providing technical leadership and coordination for GTG/GTC commissioning activities, supporting field teams at the fabrication yards in China, and later during offshore phases in Qatar. The candidate will ensure readiness, procedural compliance, and effective troubleshooting across all commissioning stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all mechanical commissioning activities related to GTG and GTC packages (e.g., turbine installation, alignment, lube oil systems, start-up, performance run).
  • Develop and review commissioning test procedures, vendor checklists, and pre-commissioning requirements for GTG and GTC systems.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to commissioning teams at Chinese fabrication yards, ensuring readiness for handover and offshore deployment.
  • Monitor and support mechanical walkdowns, punch list resolution, and system completion tracking for GTG/GTC systems.
  • Coordinate preparation of commissioning dossiers and inspection test records for assigned systems.
  • Review and comment on vendor drawings, engineering deliverables, and system interface diagrams.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and QatarEnergy LNG procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical commissioning experience with at least 2 years focused on GTG/GTC systems (preferably Solar or Siemens/GE units).
  • Demonstrated experience in turbine commissioning, auxiliary systems setup (fuel gas, lube oil, cooling), and integration with ICSS/DCS.
  • Previous involvement in large offshore or modularized projects, ideally with experience supporting commissioning in fabrication yards and offshore environments.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of offshore commissioning workflows and system/subsystem breakdown.
  • Ability to manage vendor interface and ensure timely delivery of documentation and services.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills; capable of supporting international teams and managing shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel to fabrication yards (China) and offshore facilities as required.
