Overview:

The Mechanical Construction Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing mechanical construction projects from start to finish. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety standards, monitoring progress, and delivering projects within defined timelines and budgets. The Mechanical Construction Lead serves as the primary on-site contact, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of mechanical construction activities.

Responsibilities:

1) Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.

2) Functional:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resources, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to meet project specifications.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the on-site mechanical construction team, including foremen, technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Provide training and support to team members, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure they stay within budget.
  • Optimize resource allocation to enhance productivity and minimize waste.
  • Prepare and present financial and progress reports to senior management.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure all mechanical construction activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Address and resolve any defects or deficiencies promptly.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Maintain open and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and documentation for project milestones.
  • Facilitate meetings to update stakeholders on project status and address any concerns.
  • Safety Management:
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions with the construction team.
  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
