Mechanical Design Engineer

Summary:

The ideal candidate will perform a wide variety of mechanical engineering design and analysis tasks, requiring knowledge of engineering theories and principles to determine design solutions for electronic and mechanical equipment/systems.

The assigned tasks also require knowledge of product design practices, material properties, fabrication processes and structural analysis techniques as well as mechanical computer aided engineering (MCAE) tools.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work under the supervision of the design team leader and the engineering manager with expected self-direction in design execution and prototyping.
• Tasks include planning, cost analysis, design, prototyping, testing and documentation.
• Contribution to engineering estimates on hardware designs is expected.
• Supervision of technicians during, purchasing, prototyping and pilot production.
• Decisions made will impact cost, scheduling, and technical performance of the products.
• Reviewing hardware defect trends, identifying root causes and process improvements.
• Recommending new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in hardware development processes.
• Following ISO-based company quality standards.
• Communicating with local and international suppliers.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

-0 to 3+ years of industry experience

-Proficiency in sheet metal design standards and tolerance analyses with a strong attention to details (must).

-Preferred experience with electronic enclosures design.

-Proficiency with 3D CAD software and the use sheet metal design tools and features is a must, Autodesk Inventor preferred.

-Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.

-Experience with aluminum extrusions design(preferred).

-Experience with Plastic product design for injection molding (preferred).

-Experience with sheet metal manufacturing practices, laser cutting, bending, welding, fixations, and molding is highly required.

-Experience with rendering software (Keyshot) and AI generated product renders (preferred).

-Proficiency in 2D drawing standards (preferred).

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is highly desired.

-High artistic sense and strong attention to detail preferred.

-Proficiency in English.
