Job Summary
The Design Engineer Mechanical is responsible for developing, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical designs for equipment, piping systems, and industrial components in EPC, oil & gas, or manufacturing projects. The role involves engineering calculations, design documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technically sound and cost-effective design solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and review mechanical design drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Design mechanical systems including piping, equipment, structures, and utility systems.
- Perform engineering calculations, stress analysis, and material selection as per project standards.
- Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical submittals for compliance.
- Ensure adherence to international codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams for integrated design execution.
- Provide technical support to procurement, fabrication, and site execution teams.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP meetings, and client technical discussions.
- Manage design revisions, documentation control, and engineering reports.
- Support value engineering and design optimization to improve project efficiency.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma with strong experience may be considered).
- 510 years of experience in mechanical design within EPC, oil & gas, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping layouts, and equipment design.
- Proficiency in design standards, codes, and engineering documentation.
- Hands-on experience with design software and engineering tools.
