About the Job Position
Overview:
The role involves working on scanned/mesh files to generate CAD models, producing engineering drawings, and ensuring technical accuracy in the reverse engineering and re-design of mechanical components. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD expertise, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and the ability to deliver high-quality, functional designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Reverse Engineering:
- Execute reverse engineering, design release, and certification requirements of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Review designs for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Draft engineering drawings according to ASME Y14.5 and company standards.
CAD Modeling & Data Analysis:
- Capture input data (3D scanned STL, dimensions, material properties, hardness, application) to generate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Provide technical solutions for diverse design tasks.
- Work independently to interpret and translate raw data into final product designs.
Technical Drafting & Software Application:
- Finalize CAD files and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and Geomagics DesignX.
- Define tolerances based on fitment requirements to guide manufacturing.
- Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and manufacturing drawings.
Collaboration & Compliance:
- Work closely with other engineers and team members to ensure alignment of deliverables.
- Adhere strictly to HSEQ, Data Security, and ISO framework standards.
- Ensure design data is free of defects and missing information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in reverse engineering and CAD design of functional components.
- Skilled in 3D dimensional measurements and drafting 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks and Geomagics DesignX.
- Familiarity with laser 3D scanners and scanned file processing.
- Knowledge of materials, mechanical properties, and tolerances.
- Experience with rotating and static equipment (pumps, valves, compressors).
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes (3D Printing, Machining, Testing, Fabrication, Heat Treatment).
- Organized, detail-oriented, and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Preference will be given to the candidates based in Egypt.
