We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our product development team. This role is pivotal in bringing new products from concept to production, focusing specifically on design, drafting, and coordination to ensure manufacturability and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Drafting: Create detailed 2D and 3D electrical box designs, components, and assemblies using AutoDesk Inventor or similar CAD software.
- Manufacturing Coordination: Act as the primary technical liaison between the design team and the manufacturing lines, for new products.
- Vendor Management: Work closely with external vendors and suppliers for components, materials, and specialized fabrication processes.
- Review and approve vendor drawings and specifications.
- Support the sourcing process for new materials and components.
- New Product Introduction: Participate in the process, ensuring designs are optimized for cost, quality, and production efficiency.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD software, specifically AutoDesk Inventor or equivalent.
- Drafting Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing drafting standards and best practices
- Manufacturing Experience: Familiarity with common manufacturing processes
