Job Vacancy: Mechanical Engineer

Location: UAE (Site-Based)

Contract Type: Full-Time

NEXA Engineering Consulting is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to oversee and manage mechanical works on large-scale real estate development projects.

Job Summary:

Reports to the Project Lead / Senior Discipline Engineer / Manager on site. Responsible for overseeing, reviewing, and managing the implementation of mechanical construction documents on site. Manages teams of discipline Inspectors, supports the Project Lead technically, and liaises with design office, contractor, and client counterparts to ensure construction is executed according to plans, specifications, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Stage:

  • Supervise mechanical site activities and inspection teams.
  • Ensure compliance with project contract documents, local regulations, and authority requirements (EMPOWER, EMICOOL, DCDA, DEWA, Municipality, Trakhees, etc.).
  • Review and approve materials submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.
  • Conduct QC/QA inspections and audits of mechanical works.
  • Issue NCRs and site instructions for non-compliance.
  • Maintain records including daily/weekly progress reports, material logs, change orders, and record drawings.
  • Assist the Project Engineer/Site Engineer in resolving technical issues.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with inspectors and project team.
  • Monitor HSE compliance and enforce safety standards on site.

Handover & Close-Out:

  • Participate in testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover.
  • Liaise with design engineers on required modifications.
  • Prepare and submit reports, including daily site reports highlighting issues or violations.
  • Support the Resident Engineer / Team Lead to ensure smooth project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Advanced membership of a recognized professional institution (SOE UAE, approved DEWA/DM, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in UAE consulting industry on large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of local authorities requirements and mechanical codes.
  • Experience in contract compliance, QA/QC inspection, and project administration.
  • Excellent English communication skills; Arabic a plus.
