Job Summary.

Responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and quality of assigned Mechanical Engineering activities in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, specifications, and company procedures. Independently manages the professional execution of assigned work while supporting efficient project delivery in line with project schedules. Delivers quality and cost-effective engineering solutions in accordance with company directives, legal requirements, and industry standards. Also contributes to NOV team strategies and business objectives, with annual performance targets managed through standard business processes and performance tools.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure technical integrity and quality of assigned Mechanical Engineering activities.
  • Execute engineering tasks in compliance with company procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Independently manage and deliver assigned engineering work and project activities.
  • Pursue continuous professional development within the discipline and area of expertise.
  • Report deviations and recommend improvements to the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned (LL) activities.
  • Support project management with general technical assignments and engineering coordination.
  • Review engineering designs, drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare mechanical datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Perform feasibility studies, engineering analysis, calculations, and detailed engineering activities.
  • Provide input sketches and technical guidance to drafting and 3D modeling teams.
  • Develop engineering specifications, reports, and related technical documentation.
  • Coordinate and interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Support procurement activities, technical clarifications, reporting, and documentation control.
  • Manage budgets, resource planning, deployment, and utilization for assigned activities.
  • Train, mentor, and support less experienced engineering personnel.
  • Report project progress and technical challenges to Lead Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Project Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements and report non-conformities when identified.
  • Follow safe working methods and contribute to minimizing workplace, environmental, and quality risks.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders to achieve shared business objectives and project deadlines.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERTISE

  • Communication, people management, analytical and coordination skills.
  • Engineer shall have good interface knowledge with other disciplines especially Process, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation etc. and knowledge of all discipline documents and drawings is required.
  • Good Knowledge of International Mechanical Codes and Standards like ASME SEC.VIII DIV.1 / DIV.2, TEMA, PD5500, API:650, API:660, API:661, ASME, API etc. applicable to Rotary Equipment.
  • Review designs & plans, layouts, working drawings and managing resources to ensure execution of projects within time and budgeted parameters.
  • Monitor closely the fast-track projects and meet the project deadline on time.
  • Deftness in swiftly ramping projects in coordination with clients, consultants & contractors.
  • Allocating tasks to Team Lead & Technical Expert on abroad site for technical support if required.
  • Evaluating Equipment design progress & development
  • Exposure in Equipment design calculation and FEA
  • Proven technical experience in Static Equipment Engineering with extensive skills using essential pressure vessel design softwares such as Pv-Elite, Compress, TANK, etc
  • Exposure in Layout development and Skid based designs
  • Equipment handled should cover material of construction of CS, LTCS, SS, CS+Clad, LAS, HAS, NACE MR0175, HIC and etc. for applications with temperature ranging from hot service to cryogenic with special services like Hydrogen, Lethal, WetSour, Cyclic, Sea Water and etc.
  • Standardization of Design Procedures and review Check list and Design Guidelines

Experience/Education/Skill-set Required

  • Min 8 - 10 years relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering from Oil and Gas industry (Upstream & Downstream).
  • Bachelor's Degree /Post graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from recognized university.
  • Proven technical experience in Static Equipment Engineering with extensive skills using essential pressure vessel design softwares such as Pv-Elite, Compress, TANK, etc and FEA, with material of construction of CS, LTCS, SS, CS+Clad, LAS, HAS, NACE MR0175, HIC and etc. for applications with temperature ranging from hot service to cryogenic with special services like Hydrogen, Lethal, Wetsour, Cyclic, Sea Water and etc.
  • Review of project design basis and specifications, Evaluation of vendor offers, Raising TQs, Preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation and Post order vendor documents review.
  • Participate in the supplier tender process including development of scope, input to the tender evaluation and clarification activities.
  • Preparation of Deliverable list & Schedule, Man-hour estimate, Resource requirement and Progress report if required.
  • Participating in Design Review and Progress Review meetings. Evaluation / Review / Checking of Design Documents / Drawings
